ANOSIM tests were performed in PRIMER v.6 (PRIMER-E, Lutton, UK) using the Sorensen similarity index; nights with no bats captured or detected (1 night for forest bats, 6 nights for open-space bats) were excluded from similarity calculations.
As photoperiod changes annually, so does the nocturnal duration of melatonin production, thereby providing a neurochemical index of night length.
There were 4 patients (3 in the placebo and 1 in the melatonin group) with missing data for nights 3 and 4, the reasons being discharged/re-sedated (4 nights), patient removed sensor (2 nights), signal quality index low (1 night), and patient refused (1 night).
Interestingly, the average number of the combined microstates was small indicating that there may exist sleep sub-structures reflecting important aspects of sleep related to the investigated subjective and objective indexes of night sleep quality.
For the first group of events, both points are at the dark side (nn = night-night index in Fig. 18), and the second group includes events occurred when one of the footprints is at the dayside (nd = night-day index in Fig. 18).
It appears that the sub-regions for which the largest increases in the tropical night index (TN > 25°C) are expected may conversely experience the smallest increases of the hot day index (TX > 35°C); and the reverse also applies, as suggested above in the discussion of Table 2.
During the rest of the time at high altitude, the Australians had lower sleep efficiency on 3/12 nights (figure 3F), similar movement and fragmentation index on 12/12 nights (figure 3G) and similar subjective sleep quality on 12/12 nights (figure 3H), compared with the last two nights at near sea level.
The risk of TB clearly increased with closer proximity of the household member to the index case at night time (p = 0.002), as well as with the amount of time and activities shared with the index TB case at day time, including eating daily with index case (p = 0.007).
After adjustment for age, sex and proximity to index case at night time, the adjusted hazard ratio [aHR] for developing TB in two years follow-up when having a TST response of 10 mm or greater was reduced to 1.55 (95%CI: 0.74 3.24) (Table 5).
The tropical night index (TN > 25°C) for the reference period is between 0 and 20 days per year for most of the region and 3 4 months around the Arabian Gulf (Fig. S 4).
