The concentrations of As, F−, Cl−, SO4 2−, Na+, K+, Mg2+, Ca2+ and Fe increased up to 41, 36, 14, 38, 26, 39, 43, 23 and 69 %, respectively, in the pre-monsoon period 2011, possibly due to lowering of the water table and increasing water temperature (≈27 29 °C) (Fig. 2).
35 As reported in Table 1, by increasing water pressure, the foam volume steadily increases from 5.1 to 6.9 mL.
Similar to early anopheline instars, late instars abundance significantly decreased with increasing water surface area of the habitat and increasing water flow (Table 4).
Aedes triseriatus relative abundance increased with increasing water volume, C. guttipennis and Systenus sp. relative abundances decreased with increasing water volume and leaf litter mass, and relative abundance of H. pulchella decreased with increasing water volume only (Fig 1; Table 1).
Overall, increasing the water table could make an important contribution to global warming mitigation while not having a detrimental impact on crop yield.
High limestone gravel content and rapid solute transport through subsurface horizons to aquitards in deep riser soils indicate that they may serve as hydrological recharge sites with potential for ephemeral water tables, increased water storage and greater bioremediation potential.
At each depth interval sampled, the salinity increased between water table rise and fall.
Despite the repression of 22 of the 26 structural genes of the Icm/Dot secretion system (Table 1), the expression of many Icm/Dot effectors was increased in water (Table 2).
Several severely down-regulated genes in resistant insects encoded ADFs, and while phosphine exposure increased ADF expression in susceptible insects, expression was decreased further in resistant insects, suggesting increased water secretion (Additional file 4: Table S2).
