To our knowledge, this southward initial appearance and extreme fast poleward-moving medium-diffuse aurora subsequently in the midday sector associated with shock compression or increased solar wind dynamic pressure was rarely noticed in related literature, except for the studies of Shi et al. (2012) and (Chen et al. 2012).
The magnetic pressure in the lobes and total pressure in the plasma sheet increase with increased solar wind driving.
Our results have shown that plasma sheet temperature increases with increased solar wind driving, and that higher plasma sheet temperatures are associated with larger substorms.
The amplitude ionospheric scintillations were enhanced evidently at 19 00 20 00 LT on November 20 2003, corresponding to the sudden increased solar wind speed, steep increase and reorientation in IMF components, intensification of AE and decreased Dst (Sym-H).
Our results may be interpreted as demonstrating the large-scale thermodynamically adiabatic nature of the plasma sheet, at least during the substorm growth phase, by showing that increased solar wind driving of the magnetosphere results in statistical increases in temperature at near constant density.
However, the increased solar wind density affects very little the total magnetic field (see Fig. 4(c)).

They identified a series of so-called climate stabilization wedges – among them efficient cars and buildings, increasing solar, wind and nuclear power, and reducing deforestation – that if adopted would eventually maintain atmospheric concentrations of CO2 at about 500 parts per million (ppm), a level they said "would prevent most damaging climate change".
It is found that the O+ ion escape rate increases with increasing solar wind density.
It is revealed that cold ion density in the dusk and dawn side outer plasmasphere is increasing with increasing solar wind ram pressure.
The results turn out that the diffuse aurora is surprisingly dominant, constituting 84%% of the energy flux into the ionosphere during conditions of low solar wind driving (63%% electrons, 21%% ions), and is more dynamic, rising rapidly with increasing solar wind driving.
Stopping the tar sands pipeline, stopping mountaintop removal, clear cutting, oil production, increasing solar, wind and geothermal as energy sources; this is way more important to me, right now, than marriage, lifting the ban on trans people in the military, and hate crimes legislation.
