The increase in modification time brings about changes in the octanedithiol self-assembled monolayer (ODT-SAM) reductive desorption voltammograms that indicate an evolution toward a more ordered and compact monolayer.
The modification of LC3-I to form LC3-II during autophagy was measured by western blot, in which the increase in modification and conversion to LC3-II (indicative of autophagy) correlated with levels of TIGAR expression after treatment with different siRNAs.
Interestingly, we did not observe increases in modifications associated with stable heterochromatin, namely DNA CpG methylation (Figure S2) or histone H3K9 di-methylation (data not shown), on the promoter of the PD1cDNAint1-2/polyA.

IndyMac would not comment on Ms. LaPointe's specific circumstances, but pointed to its sixfold increase in loan modifications in April over the same month last year.
"From what I've heard, I don't see anything that leads me to believe we will see an increase in loan modifications," said Eric Halperin, Washington director of the Center for Responsible Lending, a nonprofit group that has studied the subprime problem.

In addition to the accumulation of mutations that occurs with age, there is also an increase in epigenetic modifications in normal tissues that can then also predispose to malignant transformation, for example, by the inactivation of tumour suppressor genes.
