The main contributors to the increase in manufacturing output were computer products; the manufacture of aerospace equipment; and the manufacture of food products, ONS said.
The increase in manufacturing jobs came largely in durable goods, including fabricated metal products, computers and electronics, and transportation equipment.
Those plans seem to now have advanced to the point where Alphabet envisages an increase in manufacturing.

After 1997, however, there was an increase in manufacturing output, in both the public and the private sectors, as replacement parts and government credit became available.

"The scale of round three will require a dramatic increase in manufacturing capacity for offshore wind, such as turbines, foundations, offshore electrics and installation vessels," said the British Wind Energy Association.
