Highest maternal education was obtained by questionnaire when children were aged 8 years (incomplete secondary schooling, completed secondary schooling, technical qualification or diploma, or tertiary education).
The respondents were also categorized into two groups according to their educational level: persons with low education (primary education, incomplete secondary education or secondary school), and persons with high education (college, vocational school or university).
