This involves the common confusion surrounding the meanings of "fact" and "theory" in science and, in terms of historical sciences in particular, of "path" (Gregory 2008b).
In science, the core strand, "Nature of Science," is divided into four themes: understanding about science, investigating in science, communicating in science, and participating and contributing (bringing a scientific perspective to actions).
What first sparked your interest in science and planetary science in particular?
Policy on immigration and cuts in capital spending for science and in science spending by other government departments outside the science budget all threaten the strength of the UK science base.
More specifically, through linking perspectives on scientific explanations in philosophy of science and in science education, we develop the Phenomena-Theory-Data-Reasoning framework.
It is clear that expertise will be needed in chemistry and physics; in mathematics and statistics; in computer science and information science; in biology, biochemistry, and molecular biology; in pharmacy, pharmacology, and toxicology; in ecology and ecotoxicology; in medicine; and in law.
We also introduce the concept of a "culture of accessibility" in the sciences and in science education, and define "practical space environments" for students in the sciences.
Symposia in these themes include Science, technology and medicine in the public sphere, Medicine in the media, Research in science museums and Science and technology museums in context.
"There could be a beautiful convergence in breakthroughs in ocean science and space science," German said.
She has also worked on projects that seek to increase the participation of women in science (American Women in Science, Women In Science and Engineering and Women In Cell Biology) and minorities (American Society of Plant Biologists Minority Affairs Committee and American Society for Cell Biology Minority Affairs Committee).
