For valid comparisons, DNA sequences of all selected plant species were aligned with the shortest available PPO sequence (PPO1/2; 1413 bp) and truncated in line with this sequence: the truncated sequences contain the conserved domain.
In line with increased sequence data and, thereby, increased opportunity for detecting and interpreting sequence correlations across the members of protein families, a broad range of theory and methods have been introduced for correlated mutations analysis (CMA) in the last decade.

This suggests the presence of chimeric genome sectors, which may explain the higher percentage of Col-like revertants compared to svt2 M 2 K1 Col R. Note that the PCR results are in line with the sequencing analysis of the revertants.
Furthermore, and except for PC3 in which a slightly significant decrease in methylation levels was detected after treatment with DAC alone or combined with TSA (Dunnet's test, p = 0.027 and p = 0.012, respectively), no significant effects were found in methylation levels compared to mock cells in PCa cell lines, in line with bisulfite sequencing analysis results.
While this may be done in cases where we antecedently know the chances, it is of no use in circumstances where the existence of chance is to be inferred from the existence of a random sequence of outcomes, in line with RCT for every sequence there is some chance measure according to which it is random, which threatens to trivialise the inference from randomness to chance.
