We first tested for homogeneity of slopes; in the event of non-significance we further tested for a difference in intercepts, with F-tests based on type III sums of squares.
We tested the 15 messages in intercept interviews with 149 participants (63 % male, 76 % Black, 7 % White, 17 % declined to provide ethnicity).
For this analysis a function was constructed which took positive values in EM and negative values in LM while intercept with X-axis marked a boundary between these groups (Fig. 7).
This disinterest in intercept interviews in areas with switch off or part-night lighting was echoed in responses to invitations to take part in more in-depth interviews in areas with less noticeable interventions, with many initially unsure whether they would have any views to share.
