To get an overview of developmental processes participating in the formation of the two petal types, differentially expressed genes with a minimal fold-change of two were classified into functional MapMan categories.
(B) 313 unigenes, upregulated in adaxial petals (≥2-fold), were assigned to their respective functional MapMan catagories.
To identify metabolic pathways and processes responding to drought stress or recovery, expression changes in each functional category (MapMan bin) were compared to the overall responses across all genes (Wilcoxon rank sum tests, FDR = 0.05).
