Holmes and Collins (2001) describe how the physical position of the patient should be active and compatible with the actions, as was the case in current intervention, and should not be relaxed or removed from the scene of action.
In a companion article, we identified the countries in which scale-up of a diarrhoea, malaria and HIV IPC would be most beneficial, by summarising country-specific epidemiological data related to the disease burden and shortfall in current intervention coverage (Jiwani et al, under review, 2013).
However, if men do equally well or better in current interventions, the focus may move towards developing new methods to encourage men to attend such interventions.

In the current intervention study, pain and fatigue as well as distress, depression and anxiety decreased significantly in both groups.
All of these features are associated with prevention of functional decline and are combined in the current intervention.
