First, it was originally intended to spend 6 weeks recruiting patients for each study arm, commencing in January 2010 thus completing data collection at the end of March 2010, however this time frame was extended as recruitment for the initial arm proved slower than expected due to an unexpected reduction in patient attendances in January 2010.
Of this group, 37 (84.1%, 20 in riboflavin group, 17 in placebo group) finished the race and 32 (18 in riboflavin group, 14 in placebo group) completed data collection.
In some cases, we found smaller and, in some cases, larger standard deviations than in complete data collection.
Only drug costs, which averaged €1315.52 in complete data collection, differed significantly from incomplete data collection when applying Alt 3 (€1264.26) and Alt 2 (€1291.31).
Although incomplete cost collection will universally lead to increasing variance of the estimate, [ 13, 14] we only found partially larger standard deviations than in complete data collection.

After the birth activities were completed, the MDT was stopped as illustrated in Fig. 2 and the BA completed data collection by filling in the identification numbers for the birth attendant and participant on the mobile phone (Fig. 3).
The interviewers produced a comprehensive report which included a detailed analysis of the dengue epidemiology in their country, the completed data collection forms and the completed matrix with the summary of findings of each item in the questionnaire/topic guide "Evaluating dengue surveillance and response".
