But, when it comes to the triple-shot caramel macchiatos that kept the lead actor awake, the soy lattes that kept the lead actress from starving, and the black-with-three-Equals-and-not-the-same-goddam-thing-in-a-different-packet that kept the director from screaming at everyone, I'd like to think I had some small part in that.
If the transmitting station cannot receive the ACK within a specific timeout or it senses a different packet in the channel, it considers the former packet transmission as unsuccessful and it schedules a retransmission according to the backoff rules.
In a different way, packet-level redundancy transmits redundant packets in advance, increasing the overall probability of successful packet reception.
