Although Fairfax has let some great people go recently in a fresh round of redundancies, Good Weekend magazine, which is published in the Sydney Morning Herald and the Age, has made an impressive hire.
Obviously, both seem to be pretty impressive hires for Twitter.
However, even the most admired companies in the world are unable to staff key positions with the right players and, when they do manage, they are sufficiently honest to admit that this has happened more or less by accident, luck, or at the expense of many other less impressive hires.
And so it is that news comes today of what looks like another impressive hire for a Silicon Roundabout-based startup: Matthew Brazil, who was previously VP of Business Development for Radian6 (which exited to Salesforce for $326m) has joined social customer service outfit Conversocial as VP of Sales.
This can involve hiring impressive candidates and then writing their job descriptions, for instance, or rotating current employees out of roles where they're excelling but not feeling motivated.
The organization ensures that its gatherings remain secret by not only hiring impressive contingents of private security, but also indirectly forcing taxpayers to foot the bill to pay for a heavy police presence (despite the fact that these taxpayers cannot actually attend).
This week, she plans to sort through a pile of impressive résumés to hire a staff.
