Cartilage is a complex and developmentally important tissue type.
The most important was tissue type (i.e. nonpolypoid vs. polypoid lesions): it was described by the longest vectors, which pointed in opposite directions, reflecting the negative correlations between nonpolypoid and polypoid lesions for gene expression.
They do rather more important work, matching tissue types for bone marrow transplants and saving lives.
In an effort to further enhance the use of quantitative metabolomics, we (and others) have started to systematically determine the detectable metabolic composition of clinically important biofluids and tissue types [13], [14], [15].
