The course covers an introduction of basic programming concepts, data structures, and control/flow; and an introduction to scientific computing in MATLAB, scripts, functions, visualization, simulation, efficient algorithm implementation, toolboxes, and more.
The suggestions were based on literature regarding effective implementation strategies [ 17, 30, 34– 36], existing implementation toolboxes [ 37, 38], and a literature review on methods to evaluate complex interventions in health care [ 35, 39, 40].

To this end we have realised such a reference architecture through the implementation of a toolbox, details of which can be found in [26].
We used the default MATLAB R2013a (Neural Network Toolbox) implementation "net" with 10 hidden neurons.
