Implementations of segmentation-based approaches applied to B allele frequency (BAF) and log R ratio (LRR) values, including BAFsegmentation [ 8] and MAD [ 9], are proficient at detecting abnormalities, including mosaicism, when there are suitably large percentages of abnormal cells.
The implementation of EM segmentation is given as follows: The EM segmentation [46] is an unsupervised clustering method and utilized for density estimation of the data points.
Our research prototype implementation of the segmentation framework was analyzed concerning three different aspects: the quality of the output, the scaling on different devices with various number of processors and the time demand of the algorithm on images with different size.
A second automated PET/CT target definition could involve the implementation of auto-segmentation algorithms to contour each respiratory phase-sorted PET/CT, which would not rely explicitly on deformable registration.
Sample iris-codes generated by both feature extraction methods are shown in Fig. 5 d, e. Custom implementations of employed segmentation and feature extractors are freely available in the University of Salzburg Iris Toolkit USITT) [81].
Then, for each test strain, we analyzed each CNV region as follows: We segmented the data from the region using the MATLAB Bioinformatics Toolbox implementation of Circular Binary Segmentation ([35], http://www.mathworks.com/access/helpdesk/help/toolbox/bioinfo/ref/cghcbs.html), with the default parameters.

This information enables the implementation of accurate bone segmentation for the purpose of PET/MR attenuation correction, offering a more intuitive formulation than previously published approaches and more robust definition of the segmentation threshold.
