To explore the implementation of HeLP-Diabetes within NHS GP surgeries and hospital and community based diabetes clinics.
The aim is to represent a range of perspectives of the staff who contribute to the care of patients with T2DM on the implementation of HeLP-Diabetes.
At the end of the training appointment patients will be invited to take part in the research study evaluating the implementation of HeLP-Diabetes.
Data on the implementation of HeLP-Diabetes will be collected from staff across diabetes services and from a range of staff within these services.

This study will explore the implementation of HeLP-Diabetes within the NHS, addressing the facilitators and barriers associated with initial and continued engagement by staff and patients and the resources required to make HeLP-Diabetes a viable part of routine diabetes care.
This project has developed the building blocks for the implementation of tools helping a user to visualize his/her own resources (or the resources created by the communities she/he belongs to), to compose resources and to generate related licenses.

We considered that Normalization Process Theory would be a useful analytical tool because NPT is a robust theory of implementation that helps provide awareness of the work involved in embedding and sustaining practices associated with an intervention, and thus aids understanding of what becomes normalized into everyday settings.
