Their comments described a map of their physical, social, and economic environments filled with barriers and few opportunities to implement behavioral change.
In addition, patients who experience challenges in managing behavioral changes may benefit from further counseling or education about the positive influence of salt reduction, weight control, healthy diet and exercise on BP and health, and on how existing dietary and physical activity-related local practices may help them in implementing behavioral changes.
At the start of the 6 week workshop we gave parents an illustrated manual with the main points of the curriculum, including the causes and consequences of childhood obesity, strategies for implementing behavioral changes and ideas for active play in the home, as well as educational content on each of the behavioral goals of the intervention, listed in Figure 2 and Additional file 1: Table S1.
In particular, cooperating secondary care physicians were requested to provide their headache patients with positive motivation to implement the behavioral changes.
