The importance of subsyndromal symptoms in MDD is highlighted in a recent study of 88 patients with remitted MDD (Hasselbalch et al., 2012).[ 6] Compared with healthy controls, patients with remitted MDD demonstrated residual impairment on measures of processing speed and cognitive flexibility.
