Impairment of social activities and impairment at work were greatly reduced by the treatment.
Relative to matched controls, these patients reported greater impairment at work and more frequent physician visits, and estimated costs were also higher.
For an accurate assessment, guidelines recommend the evaluation of daily and nightly symptoms, quantification of daily activity impairment (at work in adults and at school in children) as well as documentation of the number of rescue medication doses per week, the variability of obstruction over time, and the number of exacerbations.
Impairment while at work and total activity impairment was statistically significant higher among all migraineurs compared to matched controls (Table 1).

In terms of work impairment while at work, presenteeism, Lerner et al. established the relationship between their Work Limitation Questionnaire and objective work productivity measures in two types of occupations [ 29].
