The mean journal impact factor of U.S. cardiovascular journal articles was 4.38, and was notably greater for rigorous methodologies such as multicenter trials (6.13), multicenter studies (5.74), randomized-controlled trials (5.43), and overall clinical trials (5.01).
Table 3 presents the data on each publishing journal's impact factor, in addition to the association between the previously described study design characteristics and correct statistical methodology.
