The response says "the impact academies have in transforming young people's life chances is widely accepted", before underlining ministers' "determination" to see all English schools becoming academies, many in multi-academy trusts (Mats).
In March, the DfE document "Academies: research priorities and questions" appeared to admit that data on the impact of academy status on primaries was scarce, conceding: "research evidence [is] primarily based on secondary schools".
It added: "There is at present no convincing evidence of the impact of academy status on attainment in primary schools.
And it called for urgent research to assess the impact of academy status on attainment in primary schools.

The report from the cross-party committee of MPs says that standards have risen in the state school system, but it is still too early to determine the impact of academies.
