IG positions aren't meant to be political handouts to allies and fundraisers, he said.
"These are all very significant IG positions, and one concern I have based in part on what happened in the early days of the George W. Bush administration is the selection of nominees that kind of defy the nonpartisan requirement that's in the statute," Bromwich said.
