In combination with high-throughput sequencing technology, BSA has been used to identify a novel xylose utilization gene from Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
For example, based on a comparative genomics analysis of SelD genes in bacteria, we successfully identified a new Se utilization trait as well as several genes involved in this pathway [ 16].
