Researchers have identified opinion leadership as a mediating variable between the content of interests and other consumers (Ribeiro-Cardoso et al. 2016).
Moreover, the prevalence of the identified opinion types among the larger population requires large sample surveys and standard analytic methods.
In the same study, it was also found that opinion leaders varied across clinical topics- and that only 32% of respondents cited the identified opinion leaders.
