Different phosphorylation states have been identified in response to elevated calcium levels or alkaline pH (Hernández-Ortiz and Espeso, 2013).
Elevations in lipase or pancreatic amylase were not associated with abdominal pain at the time the samples were obtained, nor were any symptoms of pancreatitis identified in subjects with elevated concentrations.
