ED/hospital diagnoses coded by the ICD-9 Diseases/Injuries Tabular Index were abstracted from identified discharge records.
We identified discharges for obstetric delivery as having DRG codes for vaginal delivery (767 768 or 774 775) or cesarean delivery (765 766).
