Statistical data of subjects showed an almost identical tendency with that of Patient Survey 2008 conducted by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare in Japan (MHLWJ; estimated number of subjects = 2,386,000), including the ratio of patients according to sex, age distribution, and complications (e.g., dyslipidemia, hypertension).
Consistently, the methylation density at different motifs had the identical tendency descending in this order: CG > CHG > CHH in line with previous studies of 5 S methylation [ 41, 55].
