The alleged warning from Obeid would have came before – as Icac was previously told – a member of the former NSW energy minister Chris Hartcher's staff made an anonymous complaint levelling false allegations of corruption against Schott.
Earlier on Thursday, Eddie Obeid told ABC radio there was only a 1% chance he would be prosecuted over his conduct, and that the "Hollywood-style" Icac report was "all about grabbing media headlines".
Icac concluded in its report that the Obeids had arranged for another mining company vying for the licence to withdraw its application, which it suggested was "arguably illegal" under competition law.
Sinodinos has stepped down as federal assistant treasurer while Icac investigates.
Sinodinos, now a Liberal party senator, told Icac he was unaware of the donations to the party AWH had made and allegedly charged back to Sydney Water.
"Any person found to have acted corruptly by the Icac has demonstrated their lack of regard for public institutions".
On the opening day of the latest Independent Commission Against Corruption (Icac) inquiry in Sydney, it was claimed that the Liberal upper house MP Marie Ficarra took a banned $5,000 donation from a property developer, Tony Merhi.
Icac found Obeid acted corruptly by lobbying former ministers and the Maritime Authority to extend the restaurant and cafe leases at Circular Quay.
The Independent Commission Against Corruption (Icac) served the notice to Obeid on Thursday afternoon after the former Labor minister Ian Macdonald was informed he was being prosecuted over corrupt conduct.
On Tuesday, the former chief executive of Sydney Water, Tom Parry, gave evidence that he threatened to report the AWH deal to the Icac if it was approved.
Documents tendered to the Icac also revealed new federal Labor MP, Queenslander Jim Chalmers, was hired to lobby the then Queensland Labor premier Anna Bligh in 2007 for AWH to expand its operations to the state.
