Writing in The Times, A. O. Scott called the film "as dark and terrifying as any motion picture in recent memory, not excluding the bloody installments in the 'Saw' franchise," adding, "It is also something close to a masterpiece, a work of extreme -- I am tempted to say evil -- genius".
"Most people say they're wonderful; I say they're evil," says Posen. "The argument I make is you have small- and medium-size companies that don't achieve economies of scale, are very loyal to locality, have entrenched incumbent management and work in collusion with local politicians and banks.
I say ironically because Resident Evil Apocalypse and Resident Evil Extinction were much better films than the boring and cheap-looking original.
"I'm not saying evil corporations are doing this intentionally," Mr. Acquisti said.
I was, he said, "evil filth".
He's doesn't look evil, I say, he's just a guy with a bushy beard and a stetson who liked a plate of beans with his corn.
"Should you, however, persist in your evil designs, I say to you: you can try but you will fail," she said.
Take a closer look, though, at the films enticing audiences and it's a series of sequels – all those Freddy and Jason movies, reboots such as House of Wax, which starred Paris Hilton (need I say more), and then an evil host of movies such as Eli Roth's Hostel that have come to be known by the umbrella term "torture porn".
Differences in ethics, in religion, in culture have created so many horrible tragedies -- wars, genocides, mass discrimination -- but I say, let's counteract these evils by focusing on our similarities instead, so that we can create a better, more united and more meaningful world together.
The New Testament included texts that seemed to forbid Christians to use force: "But I say to you not to resist evil: but if one strike thee on thy right cheek, turn to him also the other…Love your enemies: do good to them that hate you: and pray for them that persecute and calumniate you" (Matthew 5 39 44).
