Newton's "Hypothesis of Light" of 1675, with its universal ether, was a standard mechanical system of nature.
Bose's Planck's Law and the Hypothesis of Light Quanta (1924) led Einstein to seek him out for collaboration.
In 1923 he stated that the hypothesis of light quanta excludes, in principle, the possibility of a rational definition of the concepts of frequency and wavelength that are essential for explaining interference.
Planck himself stated as late as 1913 in his recommendation for admitting Einstein to the Prussian Academy of Sciences "the fact that he [Einstein] may occasionally have missed the mark in his speculations, as, for example, with his hypothesis of light quanta, ought not to be held too much against him, for it is impossible to introduce new ideas, even in the exact sciences, without taking risks".
Planck introduced this "quantum" hypothesis of light as a mathematical trick to get his equations to work out.
It seems, however, plausible that they confirm the hypothesis of Light and Roach (1996) that they earn − despite their involvement in traditional branches − more than their fellow migrant workers in paid jobs ('the self-employment bonus').

Clinical observations further discount the alternative hypotheses of light perception following black IOL implantation.
In 1903 he had the opportunity to amplify his views on the behaviour of subatomic particles in natural phenomena when, in his Silliman Lectures at Yale, he suggested a discontinuous theory of light; his hypothesis foreshadowed Einstein's later theory of photons.
As an example of her remarkable open-mindedness, she rejects the specifics of Descartes' hypothesis in light of Huygen's demonstrations that it does not square with observed facts, while also allowing that "it cannot be legitimately concluded that a vortex, or several vortices, conceived of in a different way, cannot be the cause of these movements" (IP §65).
The author outlines and extensively discusses the key steps in these methodologies, including formulation of the target research question, the setting-up and performing of experiments (which characteristically involve constructing robots as models of extinct organisms), interpretation of experimental results, and evaluation of the initial hypothesis in light of the experimental outcomes.
After actively collecting or happening upon some potentially relevant evidence, we use Bayes's theorem to recalculate the probability of the hypothesis in light of the new evidence.
