We designed and developed a forced cooled Nb3Sn superconductor with dual composite hydraulic channels for 10 kA, 10 T, and 4.5 K.
We have investigated analyses of stability and thermal performance of internally forced cooled superconductor, and from the results of these analyses we proposed a new type forced cooled superconductor, which has composite hydraulic channels in the cables in parallel with more open flow channels of much greater hydraulic diameter.
A numerical analysis has been carried out of the stability and thermal performance for this forced cooled Nb3Sn superconductor with dual composite hydraulic channels under 10 T and 4.5 K. From this analysis this superconductor predicts the quite well transient stability margin at 10 T, 4.5 K, and 10 kA.
