An inversion scenario produced by a rotation of 45° would take the unique hue red to the binary hue orange; and so presumably would be behaviorally detectable: see subsection 2.3.1 below).
Hue (red, green, bluish-red, etc). is not the only perceptually salient dimension along which colors can vary: there are (usually taken to be) two other dimensions, saturation and lightness.[13] A color is saturated to the extent to which its hue is intense or vivid: pastels are desaturated, and achromatic colors (blacks, whites, and grays) have no saturation.
This would allow expression of data in multiple colour models, however: The ontology would tend to get rather confusing as more colour models are added; colour would have children "Hue", "Red" and "Cyan" and seven other sibling terms.
Nor is she able afterwards to imagine things as having hue, red-17, or as having that very shade of red the rose had; and for precisely the same reason.
Now Bialetti has introduced an array of hues: red, charcoal gray, purple, turquoise and orange.
The barn-red exterior hasn't changed, but much work has gone into the interior, where dark hues, red votives and a stacked stone wall bring to mind cocktail lounges of another era.
Consider the hue circle in figure 2, taken from the Natural Color System color space, which is organized around the four hues red, green, blue, and yellow.[8] These are the unique hues: they have shades that are not perceptual mixtures of any other hue.
This pattern is clearer for the "core" cool hues (green, cyan, and blue) and the "core" warm hues (red, orange, and yellow), than for the "border" hues (chartreuse and purple).
The sample included highly saturated colors of the four Hering primaries approximating the unique hues: red (R), green (G), blue (B), and yellow (Y), (Munsell hues 5R, 5Y, 3.75 G, and 10B, respectively).
All the basic colors can be made by mixing the primary hues (red, blue, and yellow), and more specific colors can be made by mixing the primary and secondary hues.
