Instead of having only 15 hours of lead time, NASA could have had much more time and information necessary to make an informed decision to maneuver or not eliminating the need to consider an emergency crew evacuation.

Emily Dickinson used the masculine rhyme to great effect in the last stanza of "After great pain, a formal feeling comes—": This is the Hour of Lead— Remembered, if outlived, As Freezing persons, recollect the Snow— First Chill then Stupor then the letting go—.
In "Hour of Lead," for example, there's a shock of recognition as we realize that the brother, Tom, who is being remembered by an old woman, Amelia, is the soldier whose death the twins heard recounted in detail in the earlier story, and that Tom's friend Hugh, with whom Amelia later falls in love, is the same person who so crucially affected the twins' lives.
