The case of April Jones comes after a confidential hotline used to flag criminal content online revealed it had seen a 32 per cent increase in the number of reports of images showing the rape and sexual torture of children.
At about the same time CICIG secured provisional charges against 22 people, including senior tax officials, allegedly involved in a customs-swindling racket called La Linea (named after a telephone hotline used by the purported crooks).
