High-performing schools are categories: No Recognition, Schools of Progress, Schools of Distinction, Schools of Excellence, and Honor Schools of Excellence.
The Inspiration Awards honor schools with underserved students, outstanding college-preparation programs, and fruitful partnerships between teachers, parents and community organizations.
In order to receive the honor, schools must "demonstrate consistently high levels of student academic achievement, improvement in achievement levels over time and reduction in achievement gaps among student populations," the release said.
