From my own perspective having been a IT consultant for more than 15 years I can honestly agree with her decision.
If you honestly agree with something, a simple, firm "Yes" will suffice, but not a passive "Sure".
You don't need to argue against popular opinion if you honestly agree with it, and even when you do need to speak out, there are often ways to do so with tact that can help you avoid making unnecessary enemies.
