A rendering of the heart and vessel walls will be generated using the " Hollow " tool.
Existing machine was modified to perform the RUD with designed hollow tool as shown in Fig. 1. Figure 2 shows the actual image of the designed hollow tool and orthopaedic twist drill bit.
To rectify this, we will use the Wrap tool to smooth and correct these models, followed by the Hollow tool on each of these models to simulate the tracheal and vessel walls, respectively.
We will use the Hollow tool as in Task B. First, click the Patch model icon from the Scene Tree so that the Patch appears as the Entities value.
While the Wrap tool corrects and applies smoothing to the model to create a watertight, printable object, the Hollow tool creates hollow objects based on solid objects by creating a wall on the outside, inside, or both aspects of the outer surface of the solid object.
Since the trachea is a hollow structure with its wall on the outside of the intraluminal air segmented earlier, we will use the 'Hollow' tool from the Design > Hollow menu as specified to generate a hollow structure with a 3 mm outside wall (Fig. 22).
