Many fibers, both type I and type II, displayed an unusual "hollow" lattice pattern in which NADHR activity was lacking in one or more areas within the fibers (Fig. 4H, J).
High patterning temperatures yield hollow fibre shape architecture at the nanoscale level, which substantially modifies the surface hydrophobicity of the resulting materials.
The algorithm identified those patterns that were simulated to have increased risk (solid symbols; Figure 2), and high-scoring patterns that were not simulated to have risk-increasing effects (i.e., higher-scoring patterns depicted with hollow symbols; Figure 2).
Results show that the addition of ethanol to the glycerol/water mixture turns the hollow-cone spray pattern into a narrow full-cone pattern, leading to recirculation of fine droplets in the region just downstream of the nozzle, which is essential to ignition.
Laser engraving is used to engrave the printing screens, for hollowing, for creating pattern buttons, to engrave leather, denim etc. (Fig. 5).

In the XRD pattern of hollow octahedral samples, very weak diffraction peaks of [002] and [−111] of CuO appeared.
At low fluence, in the case of a period large compared to the optical resolution, the film detaches from the substrate in the area of the irradiated cross pattern forming hollow channels, but keeping contact to the substrate in the non-irradiated areas (b).
