Coronal hole jets are fast ejections of plasma occurring within coronal holes, observed at Extreme-UltraViolet (EUV) and X-ray wavelengths.
Further analysis yielded the result the two researchers were seeking: Somewhere in the vastness of space, the millions or billions of light-years between the black hole jets and Fermi's instruments, something was indeed scattering the photons and very, very subtly.
Here we can see the same structure (powerful central black hole, jets, lobes) in the active galaxy Hercules.
"In our models, we will have to pay more attention to the huge influence black hole jets have in the evolution of young galaxies, even small black holes that maybe would have been ignored in the past".
Several heat transfer enhancement schemes have been considered in these designs, including slot jet, multi-hole jet, porous media and pin arrays.

"Now we can figure out how much energy is in the jets," says Kaaret--a rare opportunity, because tracing even tiny motions of black-hole jets in other galaxies is difficult.
