We considered the two lower rate categories as representing purifying selection and (nearly) neutral evolution respectively, and the two higher rate categories as indicating positive selection.
For the pollen unit, the higher rate categories of the range were the most sampled under low and medium mean rates, giving a skewed shape to the distribution (Fig. 4 a).
