The size of the eccDNA molecules ranged from over 8 kb down to 500 bp and in most cases their hybridization signals formed discrete spots corresponding to multiples of monomer or higher-order unit lengths (Table 1).
Unit grouping refers to the optional bases by which positions are grouped together into units and these units into higher-order units.

In this study the Strickler Berg equation is used to probe the influence of continual substitution of higher order acene units into the conjugated backbone in terms of the variation of the radiative and non-radiative rates.
This confirms that the reduction of the non-radiative rate is the dominant process introduced by the vibrational confinement originating from systematic substitution of higher order acene units into the polymer backbone.
Unfortunately, the complete classification of higher order stereogenic units is not possible in the framework of the current effort, so unique assignment of stereoisomers containing multiple instances of these units cannot be completed at the present time.
These motifs are organized into four types of ensemble (higher order) repeat units, with each ensemble consisting of a glycine-rich region followed by a poly-A region (Figure 1).
