Free vibration of sandwich beams with a transversely flexible core: a high order approach.
The edge effects of a sandwich plate with a "soft" core and free edges, i.e. the plate is supported only at the lower face-sheet, and the upper face-sheet and the core are free of stresses at their edges, using the high order approach (HSAPT), are presented.
In the high order approach beam theory is used for the skins and a two-dimensional elasticity theory for the core, and it is applicable to any type of sandwich construction, including non-symmetrical ones, and to any type of boundary conditions, including cases in which the conditions at the upper skin differ from those at the lower one.
An efficient high-order approach to multi-dimensional problems with boundary or interior layers is presented.
Inclusion of the discriminating low-pass high-order filter restores the advantages of high-order approach even in the presence of large grid discontinuities.
The high-order approach here does not use approximate Riemann solvers as a building block and is therefore considerably easier to implement compared to the usual methods.
In this paper, we present a systematic, high-order approach that works for any singularity (including hypersingular kernels), based only on the assumption that the field induced by the integral operator is locally smooth when restricted to either the interior or the exterior.
A third generic objection is that higher-order approaches cannot really explain the distinctive properties of phenomenal consciousness (Chalmers 1996; Siewert 1998; Levine 2006).
Larger perturbations could be better described using a higher order perturbation approach [ 23].
Furthermore, by solving the non-linear eigenvalue problem and including higher order terms the approach yields significantly better results than traditional projection technique.
