While many of these dieting practices in weight-class sports are unhealthy and should be discouraged, it is also important to recognize that many high level weight-class athletes do not suffer from a true, psychopathological eating disorder.
This is in line with non-pregnancy literature suggesting that people identifying as overweight or obese had a higher level of weight concern [ 33].
