Building on earlier work, we were guided by a motivational model of science learning in the garden (see Fig. 2; Skinner et al. 2012), in which culturally relevant and supportive pedagogical contexts foster high-quality motivational experiences in the garden, that is, where students' needs for relatedness, competence, and autonomy are met and they are fully engaged in garden activities.
When these works are judged to be of high quality and pedagogical value, they are placed for sale on the marketplace by publishers.
A number of high-quality teaching institutes focus on higher education pedagogical development (e.g., Yale Center for Language Study pedagogy workshops, Summer Institutes on Scientific Teaching, Folger Shakespeare Library Scholarly Programs, Humanities Intensive Teaching and Learning, Association for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education).

I apply non-traditional (as well as traditional) pedagogical approaches to engage students in high-quality scholarly activities, integrating challenging research with engagement in important social, economic, and health issues, including community outreach.
