The result is the culmination of a two-year research project called the Autonomous High Altitude Refuelling (AHR) programme.
It's supposed to boil a kettle in 4.5 minutes, but to make that happen you have to have the electric fan on high, and you have to keep refuelling it as you go, which might be a struggle in bad weather.
The refuelling system comprises a high concentrated PV array (CPV), an electrolyser, a hydrogen buffer tank and a diaphragm hydrogen compressor.
Experimental studies were conducted with the objective of gaining a better understanding of the potential explosion hazard consequences that could be associated with a high-pressure leak from a hydrogen vehicle refuelling system.
To deepen studies about the risk in the above mentioned field, in this paper, for the moment, safety analyses of a high-pressure storage equipment in hydrogen gas refuelling station have been carried out by the integrated use of FMEA, HAZOP and FTA techniques.

Some data on releases has started to appear but this data generally relates to hydrogen vehicle refuelling systems that are designed for larger throughput, higher pressures, and the general use of larger pipe diameters than are likely to be used for small fuel cell systems.
