We demonstrate that the method can produce high quality diffusion-weighted images with high spatial and angular resolution at 7 T.
Using high-quality diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) at 3 Tesla, we show diffusion anisotropy in this grey matter area.
In vivo results demonstrate that using 7T and three-dimensional multi-slab acquisition with improved auto-calibration signal acquisition and nonlinear slab boundary artefacts correction, high-quality diffusion MRI data with ~1 mm isotropic resolution can be achieved.
Also, Bruegel et al. suggested use of DW-SSEPI using navigator-controlled respiratory triggering and parallel acquisition techniques in order to acquire high-quality diffusion-weighted images within a relatively short acquisition time (4 6 minutes) [ 24].
In particular, the introduction of parallel imaging, which enables reduction in the echo time (TE), echo-train length, and k-space filling time, led to substantially less motion artifacts during image acquisition, thus enabling high-quality diffusion-weighted images of the body to be obtained.
Despite the high quality of the diffusion tractography data presented here, we observed relatively poor correspondence with neuronal tracer data, particularly with regard to 3D colocalization analysis.
Therefore, accessing and applying the globalized DRM system to the unique requirements of a particular locale will require a wide diffusion of high quality education and training in DRM at all levels, supported by a system that can facilitate information flow.
