Despite high levels of hazard salience in the local communities there is a divide between action at the national and local levels, with insufficient risk management information finding its way from the national to the local level.
The next step of this research will be to combine social vulnerability maps with different hazard maps in order to identify zones with high vulnerability and, at the same time, high levels of hazard (seismic, hydrogeological, volcanic, and so on) and their changing trends and characteristics over time.
The obtained maps highlight areas susceptible to rock block arrivals, and show that the area accommodating the new settlement of S. Quirico Village has the highest level of hazard according to both probabilistic and deterministic methods.
