Finally, prevailing submissive attitudes among Togolese women, expressed by an overall high acceptance of partner controlling behaviors and high submission index score, were associated with intimate partner violence, principally among HIV-infected women.
Those high acceptance levels, however, came with purse strings attached.

Rutledge (1996) divides scores on the MATE into five categories: Very low acceptance, low acceptance, moderate acceptance, high acceptance, and very high acceptance.
While 23.79% had "moderate acceptance," 6.69% had "high acceptance," and none of the participants had "very high acceptance" (Fig. 2).
The individual sum scores may range between 20 ('very low acceptance') and 100 ('very high acceptance').

high and very high acceptance can logically be indicators of acceptance of evolution, and Low and very low acceptance can be indicators of rejection of evolution, but the "moderate acceptance" category is problematic.
